International meeting in Jerzykowo
The last week of September 2019 at the Primary School Królowej Jadwigi was full of interesting events. At the third international meeting, Primary School in Jerzykowo hosted a group of teachers and students from Spain and Germany - partner countries of the Erasmus Plus project "Reading - a Window to the World of Migrants and a Door to New Experiences".
It was busy, but also fruitful time. Both students and teachers took part in workshops and debates. During the "I am a migrant" workshops, students learned how to get to know and accept a foreigner at school. All students with passion and commitment benefited from IT workshops organized at the school, during which they learned the secrets of programming with the Scratch program. Teachers - Erasmus partners got acquainted with the Polish educational system, and students sat at school desks with their Polish colleagues. The European visitors became part of our school for a week. We learned each other's language, customs and culture. All activities were aimed at introducing the difficult topic of the project, learning about the differences and similarities of the situation of migrants in European schools.
We organised that week in a valuable but pleasant way. We visited the Old Market Square in Poznań and we saw famous goats on the top of the town hall. In the Croissant Museum our guests learned the secrets of baking. We were guests of the Town and Commune Office in Pobiedziska, and in the museum in Biskupin, we learned about the oldest history of Polish lands. After a week full of impressions and new experiences, we had to say goodbye to our friends. There were tears and hugs when saying goodbye. We are sure new friendships and fond memories will remain. Our guests promised that, already knowing Polish hospitality and the advantages of our region, they would be happy to come back to Poland again.
